For over thirty years, Florence Loewy has developed a singular project at the intersection of books and contemporary art, with a focus on experimental and conceptual practices. From the outset, she has embraced a forward-looking approach, attentive both to emerging artists and to works that defy easy categorization.
Her longstanding commitment to publishing — notably through an exceptional collection of rare and historic artists' books — forms the foundation of a widely recognized, pioneering practice, carried out alongside a rigorous exhibition program.
Since 2001, the gallery has been based in the Marais, where it opened a space — both bookshop and exhibition venue — shaped by an architectural intervention (2001–2017) by the Jakob+MacFarlane duo.
The inaugural exhibition, Boutique Cœurs Volants — a tribute to General Idea conceived in close collaboration with AA Bronson — immediately set the tone for a demanding, internationally oriented program.
Florence Loewy has worked with artists such as Robert Barry, Barbara Bloom, Claude Closky, Michel François, Jonathan Monk, and Lawrence Weiner, while maintaining long-term relationships with international artists across generations. She currently represents: Joan Ayrton, Romain Bobichon, Valentin Guillon, Charlie Hamish Jeffery, Sara MacKillop, Tim Maul, Silvana Mc Nulty, David Posth-Kohler, Caroline Reveillaud, Francesc Ruiz, and Erik van der Weijde.
She has also collaborated with Lucille Ulrich, Chloé Quenum, Clémentine Adou, Céline Vaché-Olivieri, Manoela Prates, José Quintanar, as well as guest curators such as Franck Balland.
Today, Florence Loewy continues to intertwine exhibitions, publishing, and curatorial projects within a dynamic framework of idea exchange and intergenerational dialogue. An open space for research and encounter, the gallery supports new artistic voices with the same commitment and rigor as ever, firmly rooted at the heart of the Parisian scene.
